BLSD IS THE CODE (BASIC LIFE SUPPORT – DEFIBRILLATION) OF THE MANEUVERS TO BE MADE TO INTERVENE IN THE EVENT OF CARDIAC ARREST. Sudden cardiac arrest (or “sudden cardiac death”) is an event that affects hundreds of thousands of people in the Western world every year. 1 sudden cardiac arrest can be calculated per thousand inhabitants per year: this means in Italy (58 million inhabitants) an incidence of 50 – 60 thousand cases each year. For the most part these are individuals at an early age, often unaware of the risk factors from which they are affected, where cardiac arrest is the first manifestation of pathologies that can be treated effectively.
In this course 4 types of training can be distinguished: adult BLS; Pediatric BLS; Adult BLSD; Pediatric BLSD. The program includes a simple training course, specifically designed to receive basic training on first aid (BLS) and CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation). Foreign body unblocking maneuvers will also be taught.
By participating in this course, you will learn the basic techniques to support vital functions (Basic Life Support) to deal with an emergency situation using the external semi-automatic defibrillator (AED), as required by the ILCOR recommendations, pending the arrival of the Emergency Medical Service.
The certification that will be issued, exceeding the objectives set by the course program, certifies training for adult and pediatric BLSDs and is also valid for the recognition of educational training credits.
